Demon Slayer Season 4

How Demon Slayer Season 4 Climbed Back to Netflix’s Top 10: Analyzing Its Record-Breaking Return

Discover how Demon Slayer Season 4 regained a top Netflix spot, joined by hit anime Dan Da Dan and Dragon Ball DAIMA. Learn about their viewership and Demon Slayer’s future.

Three anime heavyweights are captivating global audiences on Netflix, with Demon Slayer Season 4 making a remarkable return to the platform’s most-watched lists. The celebrated anime series reemerged as one of the top-ranked non-English shows on Netflix this past week, once again proving its appeal across diverse regions. Following the U.S. premiere of the Hashira Training Arc, the series quickly climbed into the streaming giant’s top spots, reigniting its fanbase with fresh momentum.
After its original simulcast run from May to June 2024, Demon Slayer’s latest season kept a stronghold on Netflix’s rankings, topping viewership charts locally and abroad. However, as new anime titles launched post-summer, the series naturally phased out of Netflix’s Global Top 10. That changed on October 31, when its U.S. release sent it soaring back up, making Demon Slayer the fifth most-watched non-English show globally from October 28 to November 3. In this revival, it achieved 10.3 million viewing hours and racked up 2.6 million views.

New Anime Contenders Joining the Global Rankings

But Demon Slayer isn’t alone in its Netflix success. Two newer anime series, Dan Da Dan and Dragon Ball DAIMA, have also become weekly favorites among international viewers. Dan Da Dan, a supernatural thriller that explores dark mysteries with chilling intensity, has maintained a four-week streak on Netflix’s Top 10, drawing in 6.1 million hours and 3 million views at the #2 spot. Dragon Ball DAIMA, marking the latest chapter in the Dragon Ball legacy, secured the #10 position in its second week on the list, accumulating 1.8 million views and 2.4 million hours watched.
The resurgence of Demon Slayer alongside these fresh series highlights the sustained interest in anime as a dominant entertainment form. While Dan Da Dan and Dragon Ball DAIMA continue to engage audiences with weekly releases, Demon Slayer is preparing a cinematic finale.

What Lies Ahead: Demon Slayer’s Cinematic Farewell

As Demon Slayer wraps up its journey, fans can look forward to a concluding trilogy of films set to release in 2025, courtesy of Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Rather than returning with a fifth season, the series will culminate in a grand cinematic event, marking the end of Tanjiro Kamado’s story. This unique pivot toward a film-based conclusion aligns with anime’s evolving trend of delivering epic finales through cinematic releases, offering audiences a heightened viewing experience.
