Declutter Your Google Meet: Hide Non-Video Tiles During Calls
Google has made it easier for people using Google Meet to customize their screen layouts. Now, if you want to focus solely on seeing the participants with their video feeds on, you can do that without any distracting clutter.
To activate this feature during a Google Meet call, simply head to Settings, then select Change Layout, and finally, click on Hide Tiles Without Video.
This option aims to declutter your screen, letting you concentrate on those who have their cameras turned on. And don’t worry, if someone has their video off but speaks, they’ll still pop up on the screen. It’s worth noting that this feature only affects how you see the meeting and doesn’t change anything for others in the call.
Google announced that this new feature will gradually become available for Rapid Release domains starting May 2, 2024, with the full rollout expected to take up to 15 days. For Scheduled Release domains, the feature will start rolling out on May 16, 2024.
This improvement will benefit all Google Workspace customers and anyone with a personal Google account.
