11 Flops, Rs 1000 Crore Loss! Is Akshay Kumar’s Career Sinking?

First crowned as the action king, Khiladi Kumar delivered adrenaline-pumping hits like *Khiladi*, *Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi*, and *International Khiladi*. He then shifted to comedy, giving Bollywood timeless classics like *Welcome*, *Hera Pheri*, and *Singh Is King*. Later, he became a patriotic hero with blockbusters like *Baby*, *Kesari*, *Gold*, *Airlift*, and *Rustom*. Akshay was synonymous with sure-shot hits.
However, recently, his films have been failing at the box office. *Sarfira* has become his 11th consecutive flop, following *Bachchhan Paandey*, *Samrat Prithviraj*, *Raksha Bandhan*, *Cuttputlli*, *Ram Setu*, *An Action Hero*, *Selfiee*, *OMG 2*, *Mission Raniganj*, and *Bade Miyan Chote Miyan*. These flops have reportedly resulted in a Rs 1000 crore loss. *Bade Miyan Chote Miyan* alone sustained a loss of Rs 250 crores, while *Samrat Prithviraj* incurred a loss of Rs 150 crores. Made on a budget of Rs 80 crores, *Sarfira* has so far collected only Rs 21.45 crores.
Akshay Kumar is no stranger to flops. In the 1990s, he delivered 16 consecutive flops and moved to Canada, thinking his career was over. He even got a Canadian passport and planned to start a cargo business with a friend. However, two unreleased films of his became superhits, prompting him to return to India and restart his career.
With the overwhelming success of movies like *Pushpa*, *KGF*, and *RRR*, south stars like Prabhas, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Yash have gained popularity in the Hindi belt. Will Akshay’s next film, *Khel Khel Mein*, also starring Taapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor, finally be a hit? Only time will tell.
