Salman Khan on Sikandar vs. L2: Empuraan Clash: ‘Mohanlal’s Film Will Be Excellent


Salman Khan addressed the box office clash between Sikandar (March 30) and Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan (March 27), calling the latter an “excellent film.” He also extended wishes for Sunny Deol’s Jaat (April 10). Prithviraj Sukumaran, director of L2: Empuraan, dismissed competition, hoping both films succeed. Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, stars Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal, while L2: Empuraan is the sequel to Lucifer (2019).


This Eid promises a cinematic showdown with two major releases—Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan , helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, arriving on March 27, followed by Salman Khan’s Sikandar on March 30.

Salman’s Reaction to the Box Office Face-Off

In an interview with News18, Salman dismissed any rivalry, praising the Mohanlal-starrer:
“I admire Mohanlal sir as an actor. With Prithviraj directing, it’s bound to be an excellent film.”

He also extended his support to Sunny Deol’s Jaat, set for release on **April 10, adding,“ I hope all films perform well.”

Inside Sikandar

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna  and Kajal Aggarwal in key roles. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, it reunites Salman with the producer after their 2014 hit Kick.

Prithviraj Clears the Air

At a Delhi press event, Prithviraj Sukumaran emphasized that there’s  “no competition” between the two films:
Salman Khan is one of India’s biggest stars. I want Sikandar to be a blockbuster too. Watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m. if you like!.

L2: Empuraan, the much-anticipated sequel to  2019’s Lucifer, also features Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles.
