Tabu to Star in “Dune: Prophecy” as Sister

 Francesca Tabu has landed a significant role in the upcoming OTT series “Dune: Prophecy,” marking her entry into the realm of international television, according to recent reports.
In the series, Tabu will take on the character of Sister Francesca, described as a formidable figure with a blend of strength, intellect, and allure. Sister Francesca’s return to the palace, where she was once a beloved of the Emperor, disrupts the delicate balance of power in the capital.
“Dune: Prophecy” is a prequel series set in the universe of Frank Herbert’s renowned “Dune.” While details about the series remain scarce, Tabu’s involvement in a pivotal role is welcomed news for her fans and followers.
The project, originally titled “Dune: The Sisterhood” when commissioned in 2019, draws inspiration from the book “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Positioned 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise to power, the series delves into the narrative of two Harkonnen sisters as they confront threats endangering humanity’s future and lay the foundation for the legendary Bene Gesserit sect.
In “Dune: Part 2,” viewers were introduced to the powerful role of Lady Jessica, played by Rebecca Ferguson, offering a glimpse into the prowess of the Bene Gesserit. Given Tabu’s reputation for delivering impactful performances, her portrayal of a sister within this revered order promises to be captivating on screen.
Alongside Tabu, “Dune: Prophecy” boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, and Shalom Brune-Franklin.
