In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, an insider revealed that the creators are sparing no expense to ensure that the film becomes a global spectacle. With an estimated budget of around Rs 835 crore, the objective is to deliver an immersive visual experience, with Ranbir Kapoor essaying the iconic role of Lord Ram.
Ranbir Kapoor, known for his stellar performance in the blockbuster ‘Brahmastra’ (with a budget of Rs. 450 crores), is now poised to not only surpass his own record but also set unprecedented benchmarks for Hindi cinema with ‘Ramayana’.
The film is slated to undergo an extensive 600 days of post-production work, utilizing the substantial investment to create innovative visual spectacles that will elevate Indian cinema to a global platform.
Production for ‘Ramayana’ commenced last month, with stars beginning their shoot at a studio in Mumbai. The film is expected to hit the screens in 2026.
