Get ready for Mirzapur’s big-screen debut in 2026! Fan-favorites Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu, and Munna are set to return, with an exclusive streaming release on Prime Video after its theatrical run.


The hit series Mirzapur, known for its gritty storytelling and compelling characters, is set to take the leap from streaming to the silver screen. Excel Movies and Prime Video have officially announced an upcoming feature film adaptation, promising to bring fan-favorites like Pankaj Tripathi’s Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal’s Guddu, and Divyenndu’s unforgettable Munna back to audiences in a thrilling cinematic experience. This adaptation marks a significant move in Indian entertainment, as Mirzapur expands its violent, twist-filled world for a full-length movie format.
The series became an instant phenomenon with Indian audiences upon its Prime Video release, capitalizing on the streaming boom to deliver a more immersive experience than typical theatrical releases. OTT platforms allowed Mirzapur’s creators to craft a dense, sprawling storyline, giving both characters and the narrative space to develop deeply over three intense seasons. Now, the Mirzapur team plans to leverage these beloved elements in a film format, enhancing the story’s intensity and reach with a theatrical presentation.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur the film will arrive in theaters in 2026. Fans were treated to a preview clip featuring familiar faces from the series, including some characters whose deaths shocked viewers in previous seasons, such as Divyenndu’s Munna Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee’s Compounder. Their appearance alongside Kaleen Bhaiya and Guddu has already stirred up fan intrigue about the film’s storyline.
Following an exclusive eight-week theatrical run, the film will also stream on Prime Video, catering to its loyal digital audience. Manish Menghani, Director of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, expressed excitement about expanding Mirzapur’s narrative scope, stating, “As Mirzapur continues to capture widespread acclaim, we are thrilled to bring this franchise to theaters, offering fans a new, immersive experience.” Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment echoed this sentiment, noting the series’ lasting impact. “With powerful storytelling and memorable characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu, and Munna Bhaiya, Mirzapur has resonated deeply with audiences. Translating such a beloved story into a film is sure to make for an even more compelling watch.”
