‘Laura Loomer, a far-right political activist from the US, faced backlash after soliciting donations through an app built by Indians, just days after posting anti-India comments on the social media platform X.

On Friday, Loomer, who claimed she had been banned from major payment platforms like Venmo and PayPal, suggested a follower use the platform *Buy Me a Coffee* to send her money. Ironically, the app was created by Jijo Sunny and Joseph Sunny, two Indian brothers originally from Kerala.

Loomer’s previous posts, including a particularly inflammatory one claiming, “Our country was built by white Europeans, not third-world invaders from India,” drew widespread criticism online. Her use of the Indian-built platform for donations was labeled hypocritical by many.

Reacting to the incident, *Buy Me a Coffee* co-founder Jijo Sunny, now based in London, responded with a simple “Double yikes” on social media, sharing a screenshot of her post. Hundreds of users called for Loomer to be banned from the platform, further amplifying the irony of the situation.
