Former Israeli Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon has suggested that India could be supplying weapons to Israel during its conflict with Gaza as a form of reciprocity for Israeli assistance during the 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan.
Speaking to Israel’s Ynetnews, Carmon highlighted Israel’s role in providing military supplies, including guided munitions and drones, to India during the Kargil War. He emphasized that India appreciates Israel’s support during that conflict and may now be reciprocating that support.
Reports have indicated that India recently supplied drones and artillery shells to Israel, including advanced Hermes 900 drones produced in Hyderabad. These drones, originally intended for the Indian military, were reportedly redirected to Israel amid its ongoing conflict.
The implications of Carmon’s remarks underscore the geopolitical ties and mutual support between India and Israel, though India has not officially confirmed these recent arms transfers or responded to Carmon’s assertions.
