Zendaya Talks About What’s Next for Euphoria Amid Production Holdups
Zendaya opens up about the unpredictable road ahead for Euphoria as they navigate through unexpected production delays. Get the scoop on what’s happening behind the scenes and the challenges the cast faces.
Zendaya, the amazing lead of the popular HBO show Euphoria, recently opened up about feeling unsure about when they’ll start filming Season 3. Even though HBO confirmed the renewal of the show back in 2022, unexpected delays have left everyone, including the cast and fans, hanging.
Euphoria, known for its honest portrayal of teenage life and deep themes, was supposed to dive into more tough topics like addiction, mental health, and identity in the upcoming season. But things didn’t go as planned. Various setbacks, like the Hollywood labor disputes in 2023 and the sad passing of cast member Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turen, really messed up the schedule. They only started filming again in December 2023 after a long break.
According to a spokesperson from HBO who talked to Variety recently, they’re still committed to making Season 3 awesome. They’re giving the busy cast some space to explore other projects while they wait for things to settle down.
The cast, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney, has been doing really well in their careers, which makes it tricky to get everyone together. Hunter Schafer told Variety how much she misses the crew, showing how hard it is to coordinate everyone’s schedules.
The strikes in Hollywood last year didn’t help either. They messed up schedules for lots of shows, including Euphoria, making everything even more complicated.
But even with all these challenges, fans are still super excited for the new season. Sydney Sweeney can’t wait to get back to work, calling the set “like home” in an interview with MTV. It’s clear the cast has a strong bond and can’t wait to dive back into the stories that fans love.
As for when Season 3 will actually come out, nobody really knows yet, not even Zendaya. But HBO and the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, are dedicated to bringing back the show’s important and often controversial topics when they do return.
For now, fans in the US can watch Euphoria on HBO, and those in the UK can catch it on NOW and Sky Atlantic. And while we wait for more news about Season 3, there’s always the previous seasons to binge-watch!
