Approximately 400 individuals from diverse backgrounds enthusiastically took part in an event organized by the Shri Sita Ram Foundation (SSRF), a non-profit organization. The occasion was a part of the festivities commemorating the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The festivities, held on a Saturday, kicked off with soulful spiritual songs, followed by a traditional Sundarkand recital, Ram Leela, Ram Bhajans, an elaborate havan featuring a specially designed Vedika, and the Pattabhishek of Lord Ram. The celebration reached its peak with a procession of Lord Ram and the distribution of a “specially flown-in prasad from Ayodhya.”
The entire venue was adorned with numerous Indian national flags and flags dedicated to Lord Ram. A 4’x8′ replica of the Ram temple took center stage, captivating the hearts and attention of devotees.
Arun Verma, the president of the Shri Sita Ram Foundation, expressed gratitude, stating, “With the grace of Lord Ram, despite challenging weather, we celebrated his return after 500 years, amidst a huge gathering of devotees, priests, and prominent leaders. The event featured religious havan, cultural performances, and a captivating flower shower during the Ram Shobha procession.”
Despite adverse weather conditions, the event successfully attracted a diverse audience, including Indian Americans, mainstream Americans, and various officials, along with participants and priests from various temples.
Guests, including Judge Julie Mathews, Judge Surendran Pattel, Dr. Dasika from Shri Sharadamba temple, Umang Mehta from Deep Foods, and priests from several temples, attended the event. The festivities included an elaborate havan, followed by a spectacular Arti, accompanied by a helicopter showering floral petals. The helicopter’s precise movements not only surprised everyone but also added an extra layer of visual delight to the experience.
As a thoughtful conclusion, everyone present had the special delight of receiving prasad flown in from Ayodhya, creating a lasting and spiritually enriching moment for each individual,” remarked Varma.
The lively parade unfolded throughout the day, showcasing various stages of Lord Ram’s life. Devotees joyfully sang and danced, celebrating the glory of Shri Ram in the vibrant Ram Shobha procession.
