Emma Myers Returns as Pip Fitz-Amobi for Six Thrilling New Episodes

Netflix has officially renewed A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder for a second season, set to begin production in 2025. The hit mystery series, starring Emma Myers—known for her role in Wednesday—will return with six new episodes, continuing the gripping tale of Pip Fitz-Amobi. The announcement, first reported by Deadline on November 20, has delighted fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter of Holly Jackson’s bestselling trilogy.

Global Streaming Plans and BBC Collaboration

The show debuted on Netflix in select regions in July 2024, following its initial broadcast on BBC Three in the UK. Produced by Moonage Pictures, the series is a co-production involving BBC, ZDFneo, and Netflix. While Netflix has global streaming rights, regions including the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand remain excluded. However, future availability in these areas remains a possibility, aligning with Netflix’s past strategies for co-produced titles.

Season 2: Plot Overview and Cast Details

Season 2 will adapt Good Girl, Bad Blood, the second book in Holly Jackson’s trilogy. The six 45-minute episodes will explore the aftermath of Pip’s investigation into the Andie Bell case. As Max Hastings’ trial looms, a key witness, Jamie Reynolds, vanishes, thrusting Pip into another high-stakes mystery. Struggling with her evolving sense of justice, Pip ventures into unexpected territory, testing her limits and her identity.

Emma Myers is set to return as Pip, with Zain Iqbal stepping in to play Ravi Singh. Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan, who will serve as screenwriters and executive producers, expressed their enthusiasm for continuing Pip’s journey. Jackson expressed his excitement, saying, “I am thrilled to keep telling Pip’s story, and this time, I’m also writing for the show!” We owe everything to the dedicated fans.”

A Strong Start on Netflix

The series made a splash during its Netflix debut, amassing 90 million viewing hours globally within its first three weeks. FlixPatrol reported the show dominating daily top 10 charts in 85 countries, claiming the number one spot in 74 regions. In its opening week (July 29 – August 4, 2024), the series ranked first in Netflix’s global top 10, garnering 7.4 million views. Despite its regional limitations, these numbers position A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder among the standout British series on the platform.

Building for the Future

Fans can expect more interconnected storylines as the show’s creators strategically weave elements from Jackson’s trilogy into each season. In an earlier interview, Jackson revealed, “Writing the TV show with all three books out means we get to do a lot more seeding of potential future stuff.” Cast members, including Emma Myers, have expressed excitement about completing the trilogy on screen. Myers told Teen Vogue, “I would love to see the entire trilogy pan out. I love the books. I love the story.”

What’s Next for Pip and the Series?

As production gears up for season 2, anticipation is building among fans and critics alike. With the compelling storyline of Good Girl, and Bad Blood set to unfold, the next season promises to deliver more twists, emotional depth, and thrilling moments.
