Exclusive: Ajay Devgn Set to Kickstart ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ Shoot Soon

Ajay Devgn is gearing up to kickstart the shoot for the much-anticipated sequel to the action-comedy hit “Son Of Sardaar” (2012), much to the delight of fans. Exclusive sources reveal that if all goes according to plan (pending some paperwork, which is currently being expedited), “Son Of Sardaar 2” is set to commence filming in June. Ajay Devgn, who charmed audiences with his role as Jassi Singh Randhawa in the original film, has finalized Punjabi filmmaker Vijay Kumar Arora to direct the sequel.
Ajay Devgn is enjoying a busy 2024 with a lineup of five releases, including “Shaitaan,” “Maidaan,” “Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha,” “Singham Again,” and “Raid 2.” Additionally, he is set to begin shooting for “De De Pyaar De 2” this week, as exclusively reported yesterday. With a jam-packed schedule, Ajay will dive into filming “Son Of Sardaar 2” next month, aiming for a theatrical release in mid-2025. Although specific plot details and cast information for the sequel are being kept under wraps, insiders hint at exciting surprises in store for the audience. “Son Of Sardaar 2” promises to deliver another round of laughter, action, and Sardar charm on a grander scale than before.
The film’s director, Vijay Kumar Arora, boasts extensive experience as a cinematographer in over 30 movies and has directed several successful Punjabi films. “Son Of Sardaar 2” marks his Bollywood directorial debut. Ajay Devgn and Vijay Kumar Arora share a professional history, having previously collaborated on projects like Mahesh Manjrekar’s “Tera Mera Saath Rahen” (2001) and Prabhu Deva’s “Action Jackson” (2014), where Vijay served as a cinematographer.
“Son Of Sardaar,” directed by Ashwni Dhir, achieved commercial success for its perfect blend of comedy, action, and heartfelt moments. It was a remake of the 2010 Telugu film “Maryada Ramanna,” directed by SS Rajamouli, and also featured a cameo by Salman Khan.
