Breaking Barriers: ’12th Fail’ Shines Bright with Best Film Win at 69th Filmfare Awards

The team behind ’12th Fail’ is celebrating a special moment as their film clinched the Best Film Award at the 69th Filmfare Awards. The prestigious ‘Black Lady’ trophy was proudly accepted by the film’s members, including actors Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar.

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ’12th Fail’ revolves around the experiences of UPSC aspirants and is inspired by the real-life journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar. The movie sheds light on the challenging struggles faced by millions of students attempting the UPSC entrance exam. Vikrant Massey, who plays a significant role in the film, also secured a major win at the ceremony. He was honored with the Best Actor (Critics) award for his outstanding performance in ’12th Fail.’

Sharing his thoughts on the project, Vikrant revealed to ANI, “The movie is a typical Vidhu Vinod Chopra film, grounded in harsh reality and delivering a powerful message. The role was incredibly challenging, requiring me to undergo physical transformations like weight loss and skin darkening.” The film has garnered global acclaim, with industry stars such as Kamal Haasan, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Rishabh Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Farhan Akhtar, and Anil Kapoor praising its impact.

’12th Fail’ hit theaters on October 27 and has since become a noteworthy success in the world of cinema.
