Apple has released iOS 18 beta 4, featuring several updates for developers to test. This latest beta version will soon be available to public beta testers. Apple is actively addressing issues and refining the new features as it gears up for the official release of iOS 18 alongside the iPhone 16 series at its September event. While the beta does not yet include Apple’s AI advancements, it brings several notable updates.
New Features in iOS 18 Beta 4 :
CarPlay Wallpapers : Eight new wallpapers in light and dark modes have been introduced for CarPlay, inspired by the latest iOS 18 wallpapers for iPhone users.
Camera Controls Menu : A new “Controls Menu” option in the camera app settings allows users to preserve the previously used camera tool when expanding the controls menu, instead of displaying a list of tools.
Refreshed Design : The Books app interface now features a black background in the continue section. Updates also include a redesigned lock screen icon, a revamped Stocks app, and minor tweaks to the hidden apps folder in Apple’s library.
– **New UI Animation**: A new animation has been added to the subscriber badge in the iCloud menu within the settings app.
Updated Widgets Settings : Dark mode widgets are now available even when using light mode.
New RCS Carriers : RCS (Rich Communication Services) has been enabled for additional carriers including Fido Canada, Orange Spain, Orange UK, Rogers Canada, T-Mobile UK, Vodafone Spain, and Yoigo Spain.
Users should be aware that early beta versions can be unpredictable, and features from iOS 18 beta 3 might not perform the same in beta 4.
