Julian Assange Returns to Australia: A Recap

Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, has returned to Australia and will continue efforts to overturn his espionage conviction, according to his wife, Stella Assange. She stated that Assange needs time and space to recover after his 14-year legal ordeal.
Stella Assange spoke at a press conference about an hour after Assange landed in Canberra as a free man following a plea agreement. Assange had been sought by US authorities after the 2010 release of thousands of classified military documents. He spent more than five years in a British high-security prison and seven years in the Ecuadorean embassy in London.
