Google has made it easier to reply to emails on Android. According to a recent blog post on the Google Workspace webpage, Gmail users can now respond to emails directly from the bottom of the conversation without needing to open a new screen.
Previously, when viewing an email in the Gmail app, users would see options to Reply, Reply All, or Forward. Selecting any of these would open a full-screen compose view. With the latest update, Android users can now simply scroll to the bottom of the email and tap the text box to start drafting their reply.
Google noted in the blog post, “Starting today, you can reply to emails directly from the bottom of the conversation, without opening a new screen, making it easier to reference the email you’re replying to. We know this new option is best for quick, lightweight responses, so for longer, more formal responses, you can simply expand the text box to access more formatting options.”
This feature is currently only available for Android users and has already begun rolling out. It will be available to iPhone users later this year.
