Vicky Vidya Box Office Collection Day 7: Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Film Earns ₹1.75 Crore, Exceeding Production Costs


Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, has earned ₹26.95 crore in its first week, surpassing its production budget of ₹25.26 crore. The romantic comedy, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, earned ₹1.75 crore on Day 7, despite a decline in box office performance. The film has also collected approximately ₹5 crore from overseas, bringing its global total to nearly ₹32 crore.

Set against the backdrop of Rishikesh, the plot revolves around a comedic search for a missing “suhagraat CD.” Despite its success, the film faced controversy for using characters and dialogue from Maddock Films’ Stree without authorization, prompting the director to issue a public apology.


In its seventh day at the box office, Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s Bollywood film *Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video* has amassed an estimated total of ₹26.95 crore since its release. The movie, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, was produced on a budget of approximately ₹25.26 crore, successfully surpassing its production costs despite experiencing a steady decline in earnings.

As reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has generated around ₹5 crore from overseas markets, bringing its worldwide net collection close to ₹32 crore. Produced by T-Series, Balaji Telefilms, and Thinkink Picturez, the movie also features notable performances by Mallika Sherawat, Vijay Raaz, Tiku Talsania, and Archana Puran Singh alongside the lead actors.

The storyline follows the comedic escapades of Vicky (Rajkummar) and Vidya (Triptii) as they embark on a quest for a missing “suhagraat CD,” set against the picturesque backdrop of Rishikesh.

On October 17, the romantic comedy earned ₹1.75 crore net, achieving an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 9.47%, according to Sacnilk. Despite a decline in box office performance over the past five days, the film continues to outperform Alia Bhatt’s *Jigra*, maintaining its lead since opening day.

First Weekend’s Earnings

On its release day, *Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video* collected ₹5.5 crore net in India, which increased to ₹6.9 crore the following day. By its first Sunday, the film had a net collection of ₹6.4 crore, showing a drop of ₹0.5 crore compared to its debut. Overall, it netted ₹13.3 crore in its opening weekend.

Controversy

The film sparked controversy by incorporating characters and dialogue from Maddock Films’ *Stree* franchise without permission. In response, director Raaj Shaandilyaa issued an unconditional apology via X, stating, “I, Raaj Shaandilyaa, the director of the film *Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video*, on behalf of myself and the producers, sincerely apologize for the unauthorized use of character and dialogue from Maddock Films’ franchise *Stree* in our film.”
