Zenless Zone Zero 2.7 Adds Idol Agent Nangong Yu
Hoyoverse is preparing another major expansion for Zenless Zone Zero, the fast-growing anime action RPG that has gained global attention across mobile, PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.
The upcoming Version 2.7 update, arriving in March 2026, will introduce a new playable character, additional combat mechanics, and fresh in-game events, further expanding the story and roster of New Eridu.
Idol Agent Nangong Yu Debuts in Zenless Zone Zero 2.7
Hoyoverse has officially unveiled Nangong Yu, the final member of the underground idol collective Angels of Delusion, as a playable agent in Zenless Zone Zero.
Her arrival completes the idol-themed faction that has become a fan favorite within the game’s evolving storyline.
Nangong Yu enters the game as an S-Rank Ether Stun Agent, a role designed to control enemy movement and create openings for teammates. According to details shared by the developer, her abilities focus heavily on accelerating Anomaly buildup against stunned enemies, making her a strategic choice for players who prefer coordinated squad attacks.
During combat, Nangong Yu generates a unique resource known as Downbeat, which replenishes automatically over time. The resource also increases whenever allies inflict status anomalies on enemies.
Once enough Downbeat is accumulated, she can launch powerful charged attacks that extend enemy stun duration while boosting her own anomaly and stun buildup rates.
The result is a playstyle centered around battlefield rhythm, disrupting enemies while setting up high-damage follow-up attacks from the rest of the team.
Her Ultimate ability, called Ether Veil: Delusion Reprise, temporarily enhances the entire squad’s attack power, giving teams a strong offensive surge during critical encounters.
Hoyoverse also confirmed that players who collect every member of the Angels of Delusion faction will unlock a special in-game wallpaper, rewarding those who complete the group.
Cissia Introduces a New Faction to the Game
While Nangong Yu completes an existing squad, the update will also introduce a completely new faction through another character: Cissia.
Cissia is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent and the first character representing the Metropolitan Order Division, a new organization within the game’s narrative universe.
Her combat system revolves around a mechanic called Venom stacks.
When she enters battle, Cissia automatically gains three Venom stacks, each dealing Electric damage to enemies while temporarily increasing her critical hit rate.
Although the stacks gradually fade, players can rebuild them through her EX Special Attack, allowing her to maintain offensive pressure.
Once enough Venom stacks accumulate, she can consume them using her basic attack—known as Serpent’s Kiss, to deliver bursts of high damage during key moments in combat.
The design suggests a fast-paced playstyle built around stack management and timing, making her an attractive option for aggressive team compositions.
Returning Characters and Gameplay Additions
Beyond new characters, Version 2.7 will also bring back two existing agents to the limited character banner rotation:
- Yidhari, an S-Rank Ice Rupture agent
- Seed, an Electric Attack agent
Their return offers players another opportunity to recruit characters they may have missed during earlier events.
Hoyoverse is also introducing several gameplay activities and challenges, expanding the game’s event ecosystem.
One of the themed events will take place at the Simmer Hotpot Restaurant, an in-game location that players will interact with through special missions and activities.
Additionally, the update will introduce new battle simulation challenges, giving players more ways to test their squad strategies and earn rewards.
What Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.7 Means for Players
The Version 2.7 update, titled Champions Never Fall to the Past, will officially launch March 24, 2026 across all supported platforms:
- iOS
- Android
- PC
- Xbox Series X|S
- PlayStation 5
The update continues Hoyoverse’s strategy of frequent content expansions to keep players engaged with evolving storylines and character rosters.
Zenless Zone Zero is set in New Eridu, the last surviving metropolis after a mysterious catastrophe that created dangerous zones known as Hollows.
Players take on the role of a Proxy, a specialist who guides adventurers through these unstable dimensions. Along the way, players recruit agents, complete missions, and uncover the hidden forces shaping the fate of the city.
By adding new factions, playable agents, and event content, Hoyoverse continues to deepen the world-building and combat variety that has helped the game maintain strong ratings across gaming platforms.
Industry Context: Hoyoverse’s Expanding RPG Ecosystem
The continued development of Zenless Zone Zero reflects Hoyoverse’s broader strategy within the global gaming market.
The publisher; best known for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, has built a reputation for live-service anime RPGs that combine story-driven content with frequent character releases.
Industry analysts often point to this update model as a key driver behind the long-term success of Hoyoverse titles, as regular character additions and seasonal events keep player communities active between major story expansions.
The introduction of new factions like the Metropolitan Order Division suggests that the developer is gradually expanding the narrative scope of Zenless Zone Zero, potentially laying groundwork for future story arcs and playable agents.
Looking Ahead to the March Update
With the arrival of Nangong Yu and Cissia, Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.7 marks another milestone in the game’s evolving roster.
For longtime players, the completion of the Angels of Delusion lineup offers new team-building possibilities, while the addition of the Metropolitan Order Division hints at deeper story developments ahead.
As the March 24 update approaches, fans of the anime-style action RPG can expect new gameplay challenges, expanded character strategies, and additional insights into the mysterious world of New Eridu.
If Hoyoverse maintains its steady pace of updates, Zenless Zone Zero could continue growing into one of the most influential free-to-play RPGs in the global gaming market.
