Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Journey of Resilience in Citadel Honey Bunny
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s recent revelation about her struggles while filming Citadel Honey Bunny has shown a new side of the actor’s incredible resilience. Diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder myositis, Samantha expressed concerns about her ability to meet the physical demands of the role. In an interview with Galatta India, the actor shared how she pleaded with directors Raj and DK to replace her, fearing she couldn’t continue.
Samantha’s Self-Doubt and Recommendations
Samantha, known for her versatile performances, admitted she wasn’t confident in handling the role due to her illness. She explained, “I begged them to move on because I really didn’t think I could do it. I was sure I couldn’t. I even sent other recommendations. ‘Look at this heroine, she’ll kill it,’ I told them.” Despite her doubts, the filmmakers stood by Samantha’s side and decided to keep her on board.
The actor went as far as suggesting four other actresses for the role, convinced they would be better suited given her health condition. “I sent like four options to them. I was really not well,” she recalled.
Gratitude for Seeing the Project Through
Now, looking back, Samantha is filled with gratitude. After watching herself in the series, she feels proud of her determination to push through. “I’m so thankful they didn’t move on without me,” she shared. “Even before the verdict is out, I’m proud of myself for pulling through.”
