Join Hae Jo and Jae-mi in Netflix’s ‘Mr. Plankton’ on a heartwarming adventure filled with love and laughter, premiering November 8.

On November 8, Netflix is set to take audiences on an emotional and laughter-filled adventure with the release of Mr. Plankton, a romantic comedy that promises to touch hearts. This series centers around Hae Jo, a man grappling with an unexpected twist in his life, and Jae-mi, whose string of bad luck finds her accompanying him on a life-changing final journey.
Directed by Hong Jong-chan (Juvenile Justice) and written by Jo Yong (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay), Mr. Plankton features an all-star cast. Woo Do-hwan (Bloodhounds, The Divine Fury) portrays Hae Jo, while Lee You-mi (Strong Girl Nam-soon, Squid Game) brings Jae-mi to life. The series also stars Oh Jung-se (Revenant, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) as Eo Heung, another pivotal character in this heartwarming tale.

The recently released trailer introduces the main characters: Hae Jo, a man on a quest for joy; Jae-mi, who yearns for motherhood; and Eo Heung, who is driven by his desire for true love. The story takes a poignant turn when Hae Jo is diagnosed with brain tumors, giving him a limited time to live. In an impulsive decision, Hae Jo picks up Jae-mi—on her wedding day, no less—and together they set out to find his biological father. This journey also unravels their complicated past as ex-lovers. Meanwhile, Jae-mi struggles with her own troubles, including the discovery of premature menopause, all while being expected to bear a child for Eo Heung’s family. Amid this chaotic mix of emotions, Eo Heung frantically searches for Jae-mi.
Woo Do-hwan, speaking about his role, expressed deep affection for the series: “I was really drawn to Mr. Plankton. Please stay tuned to see if Hae Jo can reconnect with his real family and how this journey ultimately concludes.”
The show’s official poster teases the adventure ahead, featuring Hae Jo, Jae-mi, and Eo Heung running hand in hand, each displaying a distinct expression. Their destination remains a mystery—adding an intriguing layer to their shared journey.
A lost soul, a runaway bride, and a journey full of unexpected twists—what could possibly go wrong? Catch all the drama and emotion of Mr. Plankton on Netflix starting November 8.
