Is “Sarfarosh 2” in the works? Aamir Khan recently shared a significant update, confirming that a sequel to his hit film “Sarfarosh” is indeed on the cards. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original movie, Khan made the announcement during a special premiere event. He expressed his commitment to exploring the idea further and encouraged the film’s director, John Matthew Matthan, to embark on the project.
“I can assure you of one thing, we’re fully dedicated to giving it our best shot. We’ll put in the effort to develop the right script and create a film that lives up to expectations. So, John, it’s time to get to work,” Khan stated, emphasizing his belief in the necessity of making “Sarfarosh 2.”
Directed by John Matthew Matthan, “Sarfarosh” hit the screens on April 30, 1999. Alongside Khan, the film featured a stellar cast including Sonali Bendre, Naseeruddin Shah, Makarand Deshpande, Rajesh Joshi, Smita Jaykar, Manoj Joshi, Upasna Singh, Surekha Sikri, Akhilendra Mishra, and Akash Khurana in pivotal roles.
The storyline of “Sarfarosh” revolved around ACP Ajay Rathod, portrayed by Aamir Khan, as he investigates a series of terrorist activities in India. Rathod’s pursuit leads him to uncover the identity of the mastermind behind these attacks, a Pakistani weapon smuggler.
